Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 pieces New York strip steaks about 1 inch thick
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh oregano, chopped
  • 1/4 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon Smoked sea salt
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • to taste Freshly cracked black pepper

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Skillet

Method

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a small mixing bowl, combine minced garlic, chopped oregano, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, and a pinch of black pepper. Mix until well combined and set aside.
  3. Pat the New York strip steaks dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with smoked sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper.
  4. In an oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steaks and sear for about 3-4 minutes per side until a golden-brown crust forms.
  5. Once the steaks are seared, remove them from heat. Evenly distribute the garlic and oregano mixture over the top of each steak, pressing down gently to adhere.
  6. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven. Bake for 6-8 minutes for medium-rare, or until the desired doneness is reached.
  7. While the steaks are baking, prepare the parsley butter. In a small bowl, combine softened butter with chopped parsley and a pinch of smoked sea salt. Mix until well blended.
  8. Once cooked, remove the steaks from the oven and let them rest for about 5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
  9. Serve the steaks topped with a generous dollop of smoked sea salt and parsley butter. Enjoy with your favorite sides!

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add a squeeze of lemon over the finished steaks before serving.
