Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound Large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • 1/4 cup Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon Toasted sesame seeds
  • 2 stalks Green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • to taste Cooked rice or noodles (for serving)
  • to taste Red pepper flakes (optional)

Equipment

  • Skillet or Wok
  • Medium bowl

Method

Instructions
  1. In a medium bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, sweet chili sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Mix well until the honey is fully dissolved.
  2. Add the shrimp to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover the bowl and let the shrimp marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
  3. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated shrimp along with the marinade to the skillet.
  4. Cook the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn pink and opaque. Be careful not to overcook the shrimp.
  5. Once cooked, remove the skillet from heat. Sprinkle the toasted sesame seeds over the shrimp and toss to combine.
  6. Serve the sweet chili shrimp over cooked rice or noodles. Garnish with sliced green onions and, if desired, a pinch of red pepper flakes for added heat.

Notes

Feel free to adjust the level of sweetness and heat by adding more or less honey and red pepper flakes.
