  • 1 pound Large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 large Onion, finely chopped
  • 2 medium Tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon Red chili powder Adjust to taste
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/4 cup Fresh cilantro, chopped For garnish
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the finely chopped onion and sauté until it turns golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in the minced ginger and garlic, cooking for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Add the chopped tomatoes to the skillet and cook until they soften and break down, about 5 minutes.
  6. Stir in the turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for another 2 minutes.
  7. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook until they turn pink and opaque, about 4-5 minutes.
  8. Sprinkle the garam masala over the shrimp and mix well. Cook for an additional minute.
  9. Remove from heat and drizzle with lemon juice. Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.

Notes

Serve with steamed rice or naan for a complete meal.
