- Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels to ensure they sear properly.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium-high heat until it bubbles but does not brown.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
- Cook the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes on one side until they turn pink and opaque.
- Flip the shrimp and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fully cooked through.
- Add the lemon zest and lemon juice to the skillet, stirring to combine. Cook for another minute to meld the flavors.
- Remove the skillet from heat and garnish with chopped parsley.
- Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
Notes
For a spicier version, add a pinch of red pepper flakes while cooking.
