Instructions
- Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.
- In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, combine sweetened condensed milk, peanut butter, and butter. Stir constantly until the butter is melted and the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar, stirring constantly until the mixture is thick, smooth, and pulls away from the sides of the pan. This may take a few minutes of vigorous stirring.
- If using, stir in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly with a spatula.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
- Once firm, lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang. Cut into squares and serve. Enjoy!
Notes
For a richer chocolate flavor, use dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet. You can also add chopped peanuts or other nuts for added texture and flavor. Store leftover fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
