Method

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, powdered sugar, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add the flour mixture and mix until crumbly. Press the mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form a crust.
  4. Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, maple syrup, eggs, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined.
  6. Stir in the chopped pecans into the maple mixture.
  7. Pour the pecan filling over the pre-baked crust, spreading it evenly.
  8. Bake in the oven for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and let the bars cool completely in the baking dish before cutting into squares.
  10. Serve as is, or top with whipped cream or ice cream for an extra treat!

Notes

For a variation, try adding a pinch of nutmeg or using walnuts instead of pecans.
