Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound Large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 lemon Lemon zest
  • 1 lemon Lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Cracked black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped For garnish
  • Lemon wedges For serving

Equipment

  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Large skillet

Method

Instructions
  1. Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat dry with paper towels to ensure they sear nicely.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, cracked black pepper, salt, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix well.
  3. Add the shrimp to the bowl with the marinade. Toss to coat them evenly. Let the shrimp marinate for about 15-20 minutes at room temperature.
  4. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated shrimp in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until they turn pink and slightly charred.
  5. Carefully flip the shrimp over and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until fully cooked and opaque. Avoid overcooking to keep the shrimp tender.
  6. Remove the skillet from heat. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

Feel free to adjust the spice level by adding more or less red pepper flakes. This dish pairs well with rice or a fresh salad.
