Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound Shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • 3 tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger, minced
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Seeds
  • 2 Green Onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • Cooked Rice or Noodles (for serving) as needed

Equipment

  • Skillet or Wok
  • Mixing bowl

Method

Instructions
  1. In a bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, minced ginger, minced garlic, and sesame oil. Mix well to create the marinade.
  2. Add the shrimp to the marinade, making sure they are well coated. Allow the shrimp to marinate for at least 15 minutes, or up to 1 hour in the refrigerator for more flavor.
  3. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated shrimp along with the marinade to the skillet.
  4. Cook the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes on one side, until they start to turn pink.
  5. Flip the shrimp and cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until fully cooked and opaque. Make sure to stir occasionally to ensure even cooking.
  6. Once the shrimp are cooked, sprinkle sesame seeds over the top and stir to combine. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
  7. Remove the skillet from heat. Serve the honey garlic shrimp over cooked rice or noodles, and garnish with sliced green onions.

Notes

For a spicier version, consider adding red pepper flakes to the marinade.
