Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2.25 teaspoons Active Dry Yeast 1 packet
  • 1.5 cups Warm Water (110°F to 115°F)
  • 3.5 to 4 cups All-Purpose Flour as needed
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Rolling pin
  • Baking Sheet or Pizza Stone

Method

Instructions
  1. In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 3 ½ cups of flour and salt.
  3. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture, and add the frothy yeast mixture and olive oil.
  4. Stir the mixture with a wooden spoon until it starts to come together.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface. Knead the dough for about 8-10 minutes, adding additional flour as needed, until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  6. Form the dough into a ball and place it in a lightly greased bowl. Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap.
  7. Allow the dough to rise in a warm place for about 1 to 1 ½ hours, or until it has doubled in size.
  8. Once risen, punch down the dough to release air. Divide it into two equal portions for two pizzas.
  9. Roll out each portion on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  10. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet.
  11. Add your favorite toppings and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
  12. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

For a thicker crust, let the dough rise longer. You can also add herbs to the dough for extra flavor.
