Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 pieces Large Apples Any variety
  • 1 cup Medjool Dates, pitted
  • 1/4 cup Almond Butter or Peanut Butter
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 tsp Sea Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsweetened Shredded Coconut Optional for topping
  • Chopped Nuts Optional for topping

Equipment

  • Food Processor
  • Baking sheet

Method

Instructions
  1. Begin by preparing the apples. Wash and dry the apples thoroughly. Slice them into wedges or rings, removing the core. Set aside.
  2. In a food processor, combine the pitted medjool dates, almond butter (or peanut butter), vanilla extract, and sea salt. Blend until you achieve a smooth and creamy texture. If the mixture is too thick, you can add a teaspoon of water to help blend it more easily.
  3. Once the caramel mixture is ready, dip each apple slice into the caramel, making sure to coat it evenly. Allow any excess caramel to drip off.
  4. If desired, roll the caramel-coated apple slices in the unsweetened shredded coconut or chopped nuts for added texture and flavor.
  5. Place the coated apple slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet or plate. You can enjoy them immediately or refrigerate for about 30 minutes to let the caramel firm up slightly.
  6. Serve as a healthy snack or dessert. Enjoy!
