Instructions
- Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
- In a large skillet, heat 4 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.
- Once the oil is hot, add the minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for about 1 minute, stirring frequently, until the garlic is fragrant but not browned.
- Stir in the crushed red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds to release their flavor.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until they turn pink and opaque. Flip them over and cook for another 2-3 minutes on the other side.
- Once the shrimp are cooked, add the lime zest, lime juice, salt, and pepper. Stir well to coat the shrimp evenly.
- Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the chopped cilantro.
- Serve the garlic lime shrimp warm, garnished with additional cilantro if desired. It pairs well with rice, quinoa, or a fresh salad.
Notes
Feel free to adjust the spice level by adding more or less crushed red pepper. This dish can also be served over pasta for a different twist.
