  • 1 pound Large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Crushed red pepper flakes Adjust to taste
  • 2 Limes, zested and juiced
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 1/4 cup Fresh cilantro, chopped

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
  2. In a large skillet, heat 4 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Once the oil is hot, add the minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for about 1 minute, stirring frequently, until the garlic is fragrant but not browned.
  4. Stir in the crushed red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds to release their flavor.
  5. Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until they turn pink and opaque. Flip them over and cook for another 2-3 minutes on the other side.
  6. Once the shrimp are cooked, add the lime zest, lime juice, salt, and pepper. Stir well to coat the shrimp evenly.
  7. Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the chopped cilantro.
  8. Serve the garlic lime shrimp warm, garnished with additional cilantro if desired. It pairs well with rice, quinoa, or a fresh salad.

Notes

Feel free to adjust the spice level by adding more or less crushed red pepper. This dish can also be served over pasta for a different twist.
