Instructions
  1. Prepare the Shrimp: If not already done, peel and devein the shrimp. Rinse under cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  2. Melt the Butter: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Allow it to become bubbly but not browned.
  3. Sauté the Garlic: Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
  4. Cook the Shrimp: Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until they turn pink and opaque. Flip the shrimp and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fully cooked through.
  5. Add Flavor: Sprinkle in the red chili flakes, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Stir well to combine and let the flavors meld for about 1 minute.
  6. Finish with Parsley: Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the chopped parsley. Adjust seasoning with additional salt, black pepper, and red chili flakes if desired.
  7. Serve: Transfer the shrimp to a serving platter and garnish with additional parsley. Serve with lemon wedges on the side for extra zest.

Notes

For a variation, try adding a splash of white wine to the butter sauce for extra depth of flavor.
