- Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Season them with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until they turn pink.
- Sprinkle the smoked paprika over the shrimp. Flip the shrimp over and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until they are fully cooked and opaque.
- Remove the skillet from heat. Stir in the lemon zest and chopped parsley, mixing well to combine.
- Serve the garlic butter shrimp warm with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the top.
Notes
Feel free to add a pinch of red pepper flakes for extra heat or serve over rice or pasta for a heartier meal.
