Method

Instructions
  1. Prepare the Shrimp: Start by rinsing the shrimp under cold water and patting them dry with paper towels. This helps to ensure the shrimp sear nicely.
  2. Melt the Butter: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the unsalted butter. Allow it to melt completely and become bubbly, but be careful not to let it brown.
  3. Sauté Garlic: Once the butter is melted, add the minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for about 1 minute, or until the garlic is fragrant and lightly golden. Stir frequently to prevent burning.
  4. Add Shrimp: Increase the heat to medium-high. Add the prepared shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Season with smoked paprika, chili flakes, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Cook the Shrimp: Cook the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes on one side until they start to turn pink. Flip the shrimp and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes on the other side, or until they are fully cooked and opaque.
  6. Finish with Lemon and Parsley: Once the shrimp are cooked through, remove the skillet from heat. Squeeze the juice of one lemon over the shrimp and gently toss in the chopped parsley.
  7. Serve: Plate the garlic butter shrimp and garnish with additional parsley and lemon wedges if desired. Serve immediately with crusty bread, rice, or pasta to soak up the delicious sauce.

Notes

This dish pairs wonderfully with a side of crusty bread or over a bed of rice or pasta. Adjust the chili flakes based on your spice preference.
