- Prepare the Shrimp: Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt and black pepper.
- Melt the Butter: In a large skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Allow it to bubble gently but not brown.
- Sauté the Garlic: Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant and golden. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
- Cook the Shrimp: Increase the heat to medium-high and add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until they turn pink and opaque, then flip and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes on the other side.
- Add Lemon Zest and Juice: Once the shrimp are cooked through, remove the skillet from heat. Stir in the lemon zest, lemon juice, and chopped fresh parsley. Mix well to combine all the flavors.
- Season and Serve: Taste the shrimp and add more salt or black pepper if needed. Serve immediately, garnished with additional parsley and lemon wedges if desired.
