Instructions
- Rinse the cod fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
- Add the seasoned cod fillets to the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Remove the cod from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
- In the same skillet, reduce the heat to low and add honey, lime juice, and lime zest to the remaining garlic butter. Stir well to combine and let it simmer for 1-2 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Return the cooked cod fillets to the skillet, spooning the honey-lime glaze over the fish. Allow the cod to warm through for an additional minute.
- Plate the cod fillets and drizzle with any remaining glaze from the skillet. Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro before serving.
Notes
For a spicier kick, consider adding a pinch of red pepper flakes to the garlic butter.
