Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 fillets Cod fillets
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • 2 tablespoons Lime juice
  • 1 lime Lime zest
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • for garnish Fresh cilantro, chopped

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Measuring Spoons

Method

Instructions
  1. Rinse the cod fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
  3. Add the seasoned cod fillets to the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Remove the cod from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
  4. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to low and add honey, lime juice, and lime zest to the remaining garlic butter. Stir well to combine and let it simmer for 1-2 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Return the cooked cod fillets to the skillet, spooning the honey-lime glaze over the fish. Allow the cod to warm through for an additional minute.
  6. Plate the cod fillets and drizzle with any remaining glaze from the skillet. Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro before serving.

Notes

For a spicier kick, consider adding a pinch of red pepper flakes to the garlic butter.
