Instructions
- Start by preparing your ingredients. Dice the tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.
- Finely chop the red onion and add it to the bowl with the tomatoes.
- If you prefer a spicier salsa, finely mince the jalapeño peppers. If you like it milder, remove the seeds and membranes before chopping. Add the minced jalapeños to the mixing bowl.
- Mince the garlic and add it to the mixture.
- Chop the fresh cilantro and stir it into the bowl.
- Squeeze the juice of one lime over the mixture. This adds brightness and flavor.
- Season the salsa with salt and pepper to taste. Start with a small amount and adjust according to your preference.
- Gently mix all the ingredients together until well combined.
- Let the salsa sit for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. For best results, refrigerate for an hour before serving.
- Serve with tortilla chips, on tacos, or as a topping for grilled meats. Enjoy!
Notes
For a twist, try adding diced mango or pineapple for a fruity salsa variation.
