Instructions
- Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on two sides for easy removal.
- In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, combine chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, butter, vanilla extract, and salt.
- Stir frequently until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth and creamy. This should take about 5-7 minutes. Be careful not to burn.
- Remove from heat and stir in any desired mix-ins, such as chopped nuts.
- Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Sprinkle with sea salt flakes (optional).
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
- Once firm, lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang. Cut into squares and serve.
Notes
Store leftover fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. For a richer fudge, use dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet. Feel free to experiment with other mix-ins like pretzels, dried cranberries, or mini marshmallows.
