Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, crumble the cooked sausage. Add Bisquick baking mix, milk, cheddar cheese (if using), garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Gently mix until just combined; do not overmix. The dough will be slightly sticky.
- Roll the dough into 1-inch balls. A cookie scoop can be helpful for uniform sizing.
- Place the balls onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch between each ball.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove from oven and let cool slightly on the baking sheet before serving.
- Garnish with finely chopped green onions, if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
For spicier sausage balls, use hot Italian sausage. You can also experiment with different cheeses, such as pepper jack or Monterey Jack. Store leftover sausage balls in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
