Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
- Reduce the heat to medium and pour in the heavy cream. Stir to combine and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning. Continue to stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy.
- Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in the creamy sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.
- Remove from heat and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve the creamy garlic shrimp over cooked pasta or rice.
Notes
For a lighter version, you can use half-and-half instead of heavy cream. You can also add vegetables like spinach or sun-dried tomatoes for added flavor and nutrition.
