  • 1 pound Large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian herbs (dried basil, oregano, thyme)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Method
 

Instructions
  1. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with a bit of the milk to create a slurry. This will help thicken the sauce later. Set aside.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant.
  4. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, turning occasionally, until they start to turn pink.
  5. Sprinkle in the black pepper and Italian herbs, stirring to combine.
  6. Pour in the remaining milk and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
  7. Add the cornstarch slurry to the skillet, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
  8. Season with salt to taste and remove from heat.
  9. Serve the creamy garlic shrimp over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

For a variation, add some spinach or sun-dried tomatoes for extra flavor and nutrition.
