Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve about 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
- While pasta cooks, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic to the melted butter and cook for 1 minute, or until fragrant. Do not burn the garlic.
- Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Add drained pasta to the skillet and toss to coat evenly. Add reserved pasta water if sauce is too thick.
- Garnish with fresh parsley (if using) and serve immediately.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use a combination of Parmesan and Romano cheese. You can also add cooked chicken, shrimp, or vegetables to make it a complete meal.
