- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant but not browned.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque.
- Reduce the heat to low and pour in the heavy cream. Stir to combine, allowing the cream to warm through.
- Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring continuously until the cheese melts and the sauce thickens, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the lemon juice and chopped parsley, mixing well. Adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed.
- Serve the creamy garlic butter shrimp over cooked pasta or rice, garnished with extra parsley if desired.
Notes
For a lighter version, you can substitute half-and-half for heavy cream and reduce the amount of butter.
