Instructions
- Season the beef steak generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef steak and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until browned to your liking. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and cook for about 5 minutes, until softened. Stir in the minced garlic, thyme, and rosemary, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Sprinkle the flour over the onions and stir well to combine. Gradually pour in the beef broth, stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Add the Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce, bringing the mixture to a simmer. Cook until the gravy thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
- Return the seared steak to the skillet, spooning the gravy over the top. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the steak to cook to your desired doneness.
- Once cooked, remove the skillet from heat. Slice the steak and serve it with the onion gravy, garnishing with fresh parsley.
Notes
For a twist, add mushrooms or bell peppers to the onion and garlic mixture.
