Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, chopped green bell pepper, minced garlic, eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, black pepper, thyme, oregano, smoked paprika (if using), and milk.
- Mix all the ingredients together until well combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the meatloaf tough.
- Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan, shaping it into a loaf. Smooth out the top and make sure the sides are even.
- Spread a thin layer of ketchup on top of the meatloaf for added flavor and to keep it moist.
- Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- Once cooked, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.
- Serve warm with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables.
Notes
Feel free to substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version. Add your favorite herbs and spices for extra flavor.
