Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound Large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Red chili flakes Adjust to taste
  • 1 lemon Lemon juice
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Knife
  • Cutting Board

Method

Instructions
  1. Start by rinsing the shrimp under cold water and patting them dry with paper towels. This helps to ensure they sear nicely when cooked.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Allow it to bubble gently but avoid browning.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to let it burn.
  4. Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Season with salt and black pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until they turn pink and opaque, then flip them over.
  5. Sprinkle the red chili flakes over the shrimp and continue cooking for another 1-2 minutes until fully cooked through.
  6. Remove the skillet from heat and drizzle the lemon juice over the shrimp. Toss everything together to combine the flavors.
  7. Finish with freshly chopped parsley, mixing it in gently.
  8. Serve immediately, either on its own or over a bed of rice or pasta to soak up the delicious sauce.

Notes

For a spicier dish, increase the amount of red chili flakes. This dish pairs wonderfully with a side of crusty bread or a fresh salad.
