- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8x8 inch baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and sugar until smooth and creamy. An electric mixer works best, but you can do it by hand.
- Stir in the sour cream and vanilla extract until well combined. Stir in orange zest if using.
- Gently fold in the cranberries and nuts (if using).
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the dip is heated through and the edges are slightly golden brown. Don't overbake, as it will become dry.
- Let the dip cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with crackers, graham crackers, pretzels, or your favorite chips.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use full-fat cream cheese and sour cream. You can also add a pinch of salt to enhance the sweetness of the cranberries. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
